Eagles Div 5 Win Grand Final

Eagles took the lead late and defeated Southern Stars 6-5 in the Div 5 Grand Final.

The game was tied at five with the Eagles Batting in the bottom of the sizth when an error scored one run for the Eagles.

The game started with Southern Stars scoring three runs in the first inning but Eagles still managed to pull out the victory.

The big inning for stars came thanks to a single by Liam Robinson, a groundout by Dale Cliff and a double from Aaron Kelly.

Stars were able to drive in two more runs in the second innings.

Jack Lawton led the Eagles to victory on the hill. The righthander surrendered five runs (all in the first two innings) and ten hits in total over seven innings, striking out one.

Tom Jelly took the loss for Stars. The hurler lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and six runs while stroking out five and walking one.

Congratulations to our Eagles Div 5 team. The club will look to expand its seniors program and enter teams in higher divisions in the upcoming season.
